U.S. media reported on the 19th that the U.S. Navy is using robots to clear Iranian mines in the Strait of Hormuz. The Wall Street Journal quoted U.S. officials as saying that the U.S. Navy is adopting a demining program that combines manned and unmanned systems, using surface and underwater robots equipped with sonar detectors to clear Iranian mines in the Strait of Hormuz.

U.S. President Trump said on social media on the 17th that Iran, with the help of the United States, "has removed or is in the process of removing all mines it has laid in the strait," but Iran has not confirmed this.

Wynward, a UK-based maritime analysis company, released a report on the 19th saying that Iran briefly reopened the Strait of Hormuz and then closed it again. In the past 36 hours, 35 ships turned back on their way out of the strait.
