Mercedes-Benz today made the world premiere of its all-new pure electric C-Class sedan. The new car is built on Mercedes-Benz's 800V MB.EA exclusive electric architecture and shares the technical foundation with the previously released pure electric GLC. It is one of the core products in Mercedes-Benz's electrification strategy.

Mercedes-Benz officially defines this new car as "the sportiest C-Class in history". It is expected to be delivered overseas in September this year and will be introduced to the Chinese market later.
In terms of appearance, the front face of the new car adopts a retro shield-style grille, and both the front and rear of the car are equipped with Mercedes-Benz's iconic three-pointed star emblem headlights. The 1,050 backlight points on the grille can present vivid animation effects when unlocking, locking or charging the car.

The body lines are smoother than the fuel version of the C-Class. Hidden door handles are used to further optimize the wind resistance coefficient. Due to the use of pure electric power, the new car is also equipped with a 101-liter front trunk.

The interior is the focus of this launch;High-end models are equipped with a 39.1-inch MBUX super-connected screen that spans the entire center console. The display has 10 million pixels, and the entire screen is divided into three display areas, namely the instrument area, central control display area and passenger entertainment area.

Most physical buttons have been removed from the car, leaving only a few physical buttons on the center console and steering wheel.

The low-end model uses a "super screen" with a traditional triple screen layout. Both configurations support screen tilt adjustment from 10° to 15°.
The car is equipped with the latest generation of MBUX intelligent human-computer interaction system, which is also the world's first in-vehicle infotainment system that simultaneously integrates ChatGPT 4o, Microsoft and Google AI artificial intelligence technology.

In terms of interior design, the new car integrates Mercedes-Benz’s unique luxury style. The new Nappa leather sports seats also adopt an exclusive "twisted diamond" design, which is very textured.

Mercedes-Benz said that the new car has been upgraded simultaneously in terms of space and comfort, and is positioned as the sportiest generation C-class.
The new car is equipped with AIRMATIC air suspension and "intelligent chassis road memory function", which can adjust the suspension height and shock damping in advance according to the road condition information ahead; the rear wheels are equipped with a rear-wheel active steering system with a steering angle of 4.5 degrees in both directions, which can shorten the turning diameter to 11.2 meters.

In terms of power and battery life, the dual-motor C 400 4MATIC version released this time is matched with a two-speed gearbox to take into account both battery life and power. The dual motors have a combined power of 360 kW, a maximum torque of 590 N·m, an acceleration time of 0-100 km/h in 4 seconds, and a top speed of 210 km/h.
Equipped with a 94kWh ternary lithium battery pack,It has a range of 762 kilometers under WLTP working conditions, and is also equipped with 330kW DC fast charging. It can recharge more than 325 kilometers in 10 minutes (WLTP), and it only takes 22 minutes to charge 10%-80%.

It is understood that Mercedes-Benz's MB.EA pure electric architecture is no longer compatible with fuel power systems, which also means that Mercedes-Benz is accelerating to bid farewell to the era of "oil-to-electricity".
From the perspective of price and positioning, the market competitors of the Mercedes-Benz pure electric C-Class are directly aimed at medium-sized luxury pure electric sedans such as Tesla Model 3 and BMW i3.
However, under the background that the terminal price of the BMW i3 has dropped to the 200,000 yuan range, and the same level of models of China's own brands are generally priced at 150,000 to 250,000 yuan, how the Mercedes-Benz pure electric C-class will be priced will determine its market performance.
