On April 22, CATL held a Super Technology Day in Beijing yesterday and released the third-generation Shenxing super-chargeable battery, the third-generation Kirin battery, the Kirin condensed matter battery, the second-generation Xiaoyao super hybrid battery, sodium new battery and the super-replacement integrated all-scenario energy replenishment network plan.

The third-generation Shenxing supercharged battery achieves an equivalent 10C and peak 15C charging rate. It takes 1 minute to reach 10% to 35% SOC, 3 minutes and 44 seconds to reach 10% to 80% SOC, and 6 minutes and 27 seconds to reach 10% to 98% SOC. It takes about 9 minutes to operate from 20% to 98% SOC in a minus 30°C environment. With battery self-heating technology and an integrated super-swap network, low-temperature supercharging is easy. The capacity retention rate exceeds 90% after 1,000 cycles. Compatibility with overcharging and long life is achieved through three major means: reducing heat production, enhancing heat dissipation, and improving accuracy.

The third-generation Kirin battery cell has an energy density of 280Wh/kg, comes standard with 10C overcharging, and can achieve a range of 1,000 kilometers. The battery pack weighs 625kg, which is 255kg lighter and 112L more space-saving than the same level of lithium iron phosphate models. The energy consumption per 100 kilometers is reduced by more than 6%, the acceleration from zero to zero is shortened by about 0.6 seconds, the passing speed of the Elk test is increased by 8%, and the braking distance per 100 kilometers is shortened by about 1.44 meters. The instantaneous power reaches 3MW. It adopts "thermoelectric separation" technology and designs independent sealed exhaust channels for each battery core to achieve directional discharge of high-temperature smoke in the event of thermal runaway.

The Kirin condensed matter battery cell has an energy density of 350Wh/kg and a volumetric energy density of 760Wh/L, which is the highest record for mass-produced batteries. The driving range of a sedan can reach 1,500 kilometers, and the driving range of a full-size SUV exceeds 1,000 kilometers. The weight of the battery pack is controlled within 650 kilograms. This technology has previously completed its first flight verification on a 4-ton commercial aircraft, and will soon be verified on commercial aircraft above 8 tons. The electrolyte is a condensed state, which means "no liquid can leak and no liquid can ignite".

The second-generation Xiaoyao super hybrid battery lithium iron phosphate version has a pure electric range of 500 kilometers, meeting the requirement of "one charge a week"; the new super hybrid system has an energy density of 230Wh/kg, and the battery life is more than 15% higher than that of single iron lithium; the ternary version has a pure electric range of 600 kilometers, and the comprehensive battery life exceeds 2,000 kilometers. The instantaneous power at full power is 1.5MW, and the output is still 1.2MW at 20% SOC. The bullet-proof bottom coating can withstand an impact of 1,500 joules (10 times the national standard), and its performance will not be affected after continuous immersion in 2 meters of water for more than 200 hours.

The new sodium battery has overcome four major difficulties: extreme water control, hard carbon gas production, aluminum foil bonding, and self-generated negative electrode mass production, and will be mass-produced by the end of 2026.

In terms of energy replenishment, Ningde Times launched an integrated super-switching station that shares box-type transformers and charging modules. The comprehensive power loss rate is more than 13 percentage points lower than that of distributed storage charging stations. The equipment reuse rate exceeds 85%. The service capacity of a single parking space is three times that of distributed storage charging stations. The fixed investment cost of overcharging is only 1/5 of the latter. Released the No. 26 chocolate battery swap battery, the first batch of 75-kilowatt-hour version, suitable for B to C-class 800V models, and will cover the complete matrix of A0 to C-class. It is planned to build a total of 4,000 super-replacement integrated stations by the end of 2026, covering nearly 190 cities and 12 vertical and 11 horizontal high-speed networks. The first batch of partners includes Changan, Chery, GAC, Thalys, SAIC-GM-Wuling, and BAIC, and plans to build more than 100,000 shared energy replenishment infrastructure by the end of 2028.
