The demand for AI-related hardware continues to heat up, and there is obvious price panic in the PCDIY market. The latest report released by Japanese technology media PC Watch shows that AMD Ryzen series CPUs have experienced a sharp price increase in the Japanese DIY market, with a maximum increase of more than 50%. Even the old AM4 platform processors that have been on the market for many years have not been able to escape this round of price increases.
In this round of price increases, AMD’s latest Ryzen 9000 series has become the hardest hit. The report shows that in this month alone, the prices of most models in this series have increased by more than 20%, and some models have increased by more than 30%.
Among them, Ryzen 79700X has the highest increase, reaching 57.4%. The current price is 59,800 yen (approximately 2,568 yuan), which is the model most affected by this price increase.

Other main models also increased across the board. Ryzen 9 9900X has increased by 37.1% , and the current price is 79,500 yen (approximately 3,414 yuan). Ryzen 5 9600X increased by 22.6% and is priced at 44,480 yen (approximately 1,910 yuan).
The X3D series, which has attracted much attention from gamers, has not been spared . Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D both increased by 21.8%. The current prices are 76,800 yen (approximately 3,298 yuan) and 109,400 yen (approximately 4,698 yuan) respectively.
The flagship model Ryzen 9 9950X3D increased by 20.1% and is priced at 134,800 yen (approximately 5,789 yuan).
The Ryzen 9 9950X increased by 18.0% and is priced at 109,196 yen (approximately RMB 4,689); the Ryzen 7 9850X3D increased by 5.6% and is priced at 76,800 yen (approximately RMB 3,298).
Currently, the retail prices of all Ryzen 9000 series products are higher than the official guide price, and no model can be purchased at a price lower than the MSRP.
Take the Ryzen 7 9700X with the highest price increase as an example. The official guide price of this model in the United States is US$299. Even including Japan's local consumption tax, its selling price in Japan is still $70 higher than in the United States.

Not only are the latest AM5 platform new products, the previous generation Ryzen 7000 series processors have also seen significant price increases. Among them, the perennial best-selling Ryzen 7 7800X3D has increased by 41.3%, and is currently priced at 67,800 yen (approximately 2,912 yuan).
The entry-level model Ryzen 5 7600 increased by 29.4% and is priced at 35,979 yen (approximately 1,545 yuan). Core display models such as Ryzen 5 8600G and 8500G also experienced price increases of 31.9% and 26.6% respectively. The current selling prices are 36,280 yen (approximately 1,558 yuan) and 28,580 yen (approximately 1,227 yuan) respectively.
Even the AM4 platform processor has been affected by the price increase. However, the price increase of AM4 models is relatively mild, generally increasing by 5%-10% compared to the previous price . Among them, the Ryzen 5 5600GT has increased by 18.9% and is currently priced at 26,500 yen (approximately RMB 1,138); the Ryzen 5 5700X has increased by 10.1% and is priced at 32,800 yen (approximately RMB 1,409).
Just before, industry reports have disclosed Intel and AMD’s CPU price adjustment plans. Relevant information shows that consumer-grade CPU prices are expected to rise by 10% in the first half of 2026, and a new round of price adjustments may occur in the coming months. Among them, AMD's consumer-grade CPU product lines such as Ryzen, Ryzen AI, and Ryzen AIMAX are expected to have a cumulative increase of 16%-17%.
The core incentive for this round of hardware price increases is the surge in global demand for AI computing power. Chip manufacturers are prioritizing more advanced process production capacity to more profitable enterprise-level server chips. The market supply of consumer-level CPUs is continuously compressed, which directly triggers terminal price fluctuations.
So far, There has been no significant jump in CPU prices in other mainstream markets such as the United States. However, the price changes in the Asian market have provided early signals for the price trend of global consumer-grade CPUs.
Whether this round of price increases is a panic price adjustment by retailers or a precursor to widespread price increases in the global consumer market still needs to be verified by price trends in the following weeks.
