According to CCTV news reports, at 10:50 this morning, the first 180,000 cubic meter LNG carrier "Georgetown" independently designed and built by my country was delivered at the China Merchants Heavy Industry Terminal in Nantong, Jiangsu. It slowly unberthed from the Nantong section of the Yangtze River and sailed to Singapore. The ship was built by China Merchants Shipbuilding Haimen Base, with a total length of 298.8 meters, a width of 48 meters, a design speed of 19.5 knots, and an endurance of 22,000 nautical miles.
It adopts a dual-fuel low-speed propulsion system and has the advantages of low evaporation rate and high environmental performance. It is the largest-capacity LNG carrier currently built in my country, marking a major breakthrough in my country's high-end clean energy ship manufacturing field.

The cargo tank adopts GTT MARK III FLEX film technology. The total capacity of the four tanks is 180,000 cubic meters. The maximum loading rate is 99.4%. The cargo evaporation rate is <0.085%/day. The energy consumption and loss reach the world's advanced level.
The ship is not limited to navigation in waters, is compatible with mainstream LNG terminals around the world, and can be transported across oceans for long distances.

Liquefied natural gas carriers are specialized ships for transporting -163°C ultra-low temperature liquefied natural gas. Due to the extremely high difficulty of design and construction, they are called "the crown jewel of the shipbuilding industry" together with aircraft carriers and luxury cruise ships.
With the delivery of this ship, my country now has five shipyards capable of delivering LNG carriers, and its overall construction level ranks among the world's first-class echelons.
