The first phase of Wuhan Metro Line 12, the longest subway loop line in Asia, is about to be opened to traffic. Recently, the line’s three major featured stations—Gongzheng Road Station, Wuchang East Square Station, and National Expo Center South Station—were officially unveiled. Line 12 is a key link in the "ring + radiation" skeleton structure of Wuhan's rail transit network, with a total length of 59.9 kilometers. The first phase of the project starts from Gangdu Garden Station in Qingshan District, passes through Wuchang District, and ends at Mohu Park Station in Hanyang District. The total length of the line is approximately 35.32 kilometers, all underground lines, and a total of 23 stations.

The line efficiently connects Wuchang and Hanyang through multiple transfer nodes, greatly improving the convenience of cross-regional travel, effectively easing the traffic pressure on urban expressways such as the South Third Ring Road and Youyi Avenue, and further strengthening the overall operational efficiency of the city's rail transit network.

According to reports, Line 12 is designed with the theme of "Dream around the River City and enjoy the subway". The standard station uses the line color "Yangtze Blue" as the main color. In areas with dense passenger flow, the combined shape of "three town maps + circular lamps" on the ceiling strengthens the recognition of "same ring, walking together, and same dream". The three major special stations are decorated and designed to fully integrate the surrounding environment of the stations to show the cultural characteristics of the city.

Walking into Zhenggong Road Station is like stepping into a moving picture. The station uses "Colorful Flower Shadows" as its decoration design theme, cleverly integrating the natural charm of Sha Lake and East Lake as well as the commercial vitality of Chuhe Han Street and Wuhan SKP. The ceiling adopts soft curves and petal-like arcs, combined with large hollow design, to create an immersive experience where "people walk in the scenery and the scenery flows with them".

It is reported that Metro Line 12 uses Type A fully automatic driverless trains with a maximum operating speed of 80 kilometers per hour.Chen Zhuo, an engineer of Wuhan Metro Co., Ltd., said that the train adopts the most advanced fully automatic driving technology, has completely independent intellectual property rights, and is highly intelligent.
