The official version of FedoraAsahiRemix39 has been launched. FedoraAsahiRemix39 version currently only supports Apple M1 and M2 chips. Supported devices include MacBookAir, MacBookPro, MacMini, MacStudio, iMac, etc. MacPro is not yet supported.
By default, FedoraAsahiRemix uses KDEPlasma to provide users with a desktop experience, which GNOME can also use. Both KED and GNOME use Wayland out of the box, using XWayland to support older versions of X11 applications.
Highlights of FedoraAsahiRemix39 include shipping with a non-conforming version of OpenGL 3.3, which brings GPU-accelerated geometry shaders and transformation feedback, as well as shipping with a consistent version of OpenGLES 3.1.
At present, all aspects of hardware adaptation and compatibility have been basically completed, and the use of Bluetooth, WiFi, etc. is also completely normal. For users who are interested in experiencing Linux on Mac, FedoraAsahiRemix is a good choice.
Of course, there are also some hardware adaptation and compatibility that have not yet been completed, including USB-C display support, Thunderbolt 4/USB4, microphone, TouchID, etc., which will require more time to adapt.
