It is difficult to charge electric vehicles in old communities and the existing charging pile berths are occupied, which has always been a pain point in management. Hangzhou Cuiyuan District 1 has tried a new solution - "mobile storage and charging robot". Since its operation for one month, residents have received good feedback. The robot is rectangular in shape, 0.95 meters wide, 1.9 meters long, and 1.4 meters high. It is equipped with large intelligent display screens at the front and rear. There are 4 wheels at the bottom, and a charging cable and charging gun several meters long are rolled at the rear. A fast charging station is equipped with two charging guns, which can recharge two robots at the same time.

Mr. Zhang has used robot charging many times. He said: "A few minutes after placing the order, the robot came over by itself and went to the car to charge with fast charging. It was ready in no time. It is especially suitable for emergency use. Although the price is a bit more expensive than slow charging, it will definitely be used if necessary."
Ms. Jiang drives a Tesla Model Y and uses it many times. She said: "In order to protect the battery, I set it to stop charging when it reaches 80%. I feel that the mobile charging robots in the community are faster than the fast charging piles outside. The same charge can be five to ten minutes faster."
Currently, the mobile storage and charging services in Cuiyuan District 1 are handled by the property management company. The actual operation is much simpler than imagined: the security guard uses the remote control to control the robot to reach the designated location, contact the car owner to unlock the vehicle, and then the charging is completed.
