"Maria" is described as a psychosexual pop thriller that combines music, fashion and supernatural elements in an eerie and gorgeous style. The film tells the story of legendary pop superstar Mariah who suddenly stops touring after an emotional breakdown. When she was about to return to the stage with a comeback concert, in order to create a new and perfect stage image, she found her long-estranged friend Sam Anselm (played by Michaela Cole), the costume designer who had created her superstar image. The two reunited again after a long absence. As they were pulled back into each other's lives, the emotions and scars that had been buried in the past gradually emerged.
