Tesla said on Wednesday that its first Semi truck has begun rolling off its mass production line. "The electric truck Semi enters a new stage of mass production," Tesla said in a post on its social media platform. The Tesla Semi is a pure electric truck designed for long-distance freight transportation. According to its official website, its long-range version has a range of about 500 miles on a single charge and is expected to be delivered this year.

Previous reports stated that Tesla plans to start mass production in 2026, with Cybercab being produced in Texas and Semi being produced in Nevada.

Tesla first released its Semi truck in 2017 and reiterated in its recent earnings call that mass production of its Cybercab self-driving taxi and Megapack3 battery system is also scheduled to start in 2026.

In January this year, Tesla said it planned to more than double its capital expenditures this year to more than $20 billion, with investment focused on Semi trucks, Cybercab self-driving cars, Optimus humanoid robots, and battery and lithium production plants.
