Recently, German technology media ComputerBase announced the results of a large-scale blind test, inviting players and hardware enthusiasts to compare the image quality of NVIDIA and AMD's latest super-resolution technologies. The test involved seven contemporary games: "Anno 117: Pax Romana", "ARC Raiders", "Assassin's Creed: Shadows", "Call of Duty: Black Ops 7", "Kingdom: Deliverance 2", "Resident Evil: Requiem" and "The Last of Us Part 1".

All screenshots were generated using FSR 4.0, enhanced version FSR 4.1 and DLSS 4.5 (quality mode). Participants did not know the technology corresponding to each picture, ensuring absolute objectivity.

According to the voting results, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 won overwhelmingly in six of the seven games. Users generally believe that its details are clearer, dynamic images are more stable, and frame generation effects are more natural. The only exception is "Resident Evil: Requiem", where FSR 4.1 unexpectedly won.

Although most projects fail, experts and the community agree that AMD has made a huge leap forward. FSR 4.1 is a significant improvement compared to FSR 4.0, and in some scenarios the image quality is almost indistinguishable from DLSS 4.5.

It is worth noting that in tests, players are increasingly inclined to choose super-scored images instead of native rendering. This clearly shows that modern AI algorithms can not only effectively improve performance, but also improve visual perception.

Experts point out that the next stage of evolution of super-resolution technology must be linked to neural rendering. NVIDIA has taken the first step with its DLSS 5.0 and neural texture compression demonstrations announced at GTC 2026, which can significantly reduce graphics memory usage. At the same time, AMD is continuing to optimize FSR and is preparing to launch a new version that can be closer to its opponents. The competition in super-score technology will continue, and the ultimate beneficiaries will be the majority of players.
