Microsoft plans to release a new generation of Surface products in mid-May, including Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 8.This time point is about two months earlier than the July previously predicted by Windows Central. This release continues to adopt the parallel strategy of ARM and Intel dual platforms. The consumer product line will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 processor, continuing the ARM architecture route.
The business version (for Business) is equipped with Intel Panther Lake processors, but consumers can also purchase it.
A number of Surface device benchmarks equipped with Panther Lake processors have previously appeared on Geekbench, but the Snapdragon X2 version has not yet appeared in the benchmark database.
In terms of product details, the Surface Laptop 8 consumer version will be limited to 13.8 inches in size and will offer an OLED screen option for the first time.
The business version is available in 13.8-inch and 15-inch sizes, with up to a Core Ultra X7 368H processor. The Surface Pro 12 business version is expected to support 5G connections from the launch, which is the first time in the Surface Pro series.
There are still many questions about the new products, including specific pricing, performance of the ARM version and specifications of the OLED screen, etc. We need to wait for further official confirmation from Microsoft.
