After PCMag tested nearly 200 notebook models,MSI Medal 14 Flip AI+ set the highest record in the history of this test with a video endurance of 42 hours and 6 minutes. This result is more than 10 hours longer than the previous record, marking a new milestone in notebook battery technology.
MSI Honor 14 Flip AI+ is equipped with Intel's latest Core Ultra X7 358H processor, 32GB memory and 1TB SSD. It uses a 14-inch 1920×1200 OLED touch screen, supports 360-degree flipping, and weighs about 1.27 kg.
PCMag's test method is to fully charge the laptop and play a Blender animation short video in a loop at 50% screen brightness (with Wi-Fi turned off) until the battery drops to 5% and automatically sleeps.
Previously, the video battery life of Windows notebooks has been hovering around 20 hours for a long time, and only a few MacBooks can exceed 30 hours. However, with the successive introduction of Qualcomm Snapdragon X, Intel Lunar Lake and Panther Lake processors, more than 25 hours has become the norm.
In PCMag's database from 2024 to 2026, six notebooks have achieved more than 30 hours of battery life, and the shortest result among the top ten is close to 28 hours.
Among them, three of the top three models use Intel Core Ultra 300 series processors. This series has only been on the market for a few months, and there is room for subsequent growth.
However, PCMag also admitted,42 hours is achieved under specific test conditions. The brightness of MSI’s OLED screen is low, and the actual power consumption is lower at the 50% setting; the 1920×1200 resolution is also more power-saving than 4K.
Referring to the measured data from Tom's Guide and other media, the battery life in actual mixed usage scenarios (office, streaming, video conferencing) is about 15-20 hours, but it is still at the top level of current Windows notebooks.
