Recently, a humanoid robot prototype jointly developed by Japanese manufacturers and universities was officially unveiled. It was called a "purely Japanese" model by local media. However, during previous tests, the robot's leg parts suddenly malfunctioned, causing it to be unable to complete the walking demonstration at the press conference.
The robot, named "Qingming", is 140 centimeters tall and weighs 49 kilograms. All its "body" parts are purchased from domestic manufacturers in Japan.
A total of 2 universities and 14 companies are participating in the project, which aims to develop a mass-produced model that can function in environments such as disaster sites by the end of March 2029. The R&D team completed the manufacturing of the prototype in just 4 months.
The project team plans to complete the repairs and improvements to the robot by the end of May, and will then show a video of its actual operation.
It is worth noting that the motors, sensors and other components of the robot's "body" are all provided by Japanese manufacturers, but the core part of the computer responsible for controlling the system - the GPU, comes from the American company Nvidia.
