Recently, the new and improved version of the Y-20 family - the Y-20B transport aircraft has been officially unveiled. This high-profile strategic weapon has been replaced with a pure Chinese heart, marking that our country's strategic transportation force has entered a new era of independence. The biggest and most core upgrade of Yun-20B is the comprehensive replacement of domestically produced large bypass ratio engines. This change not only gives the aircraft more power, but also completely solves the dilemma of long-term dependence on imports of key core components.

As currently the most advanced strategic transport aircraft in China, the most striking feature of the Y-20B in appearance is the four domestically produced large-diameter engines suspended under the wings. Because of its thick shape, it is vividly compared to mounting four large oil drums. This change in body shape is a symbol of high-performance power.

Compared with the slim power plant used in older models, the diameter of the Yun-20B engine has been significantly increased. This is the most intuitive feature of the domestic turbofan 20 engine. A larger bypass ratio means better fuel efficiency, which can greatly increase the maximum range of the aircraft.

At the same time, compared with the previous power system, the thrust of the turbofan 20 has achieved significant growth. This has made the Y-20B's take-off weight, load capacity and flight safety all-roundly upgraded, and its operational reliability in complex environments has also become higher.

It seems to be just a simple change in the appearance of the engine, but behind it is an all-round independent breakthrough in core technology in the field of aviation power in my country. By carrying a domestically produced heart, the Yun-20B has completely made up for the final shortcomings, allowing the Chinese Air Force to truly possess top-notch long-range strategic delivery capabilities.

This leap-forward progress has also accumulated valuable experience for the power autonomy of my country’s large civil aircraft. The mature application of turbofan 20 is bound to accelerate the process of replacing domestic C919 passenger aircraft with Chinese engines. Currently, the Yangtze 1000A engine used in civil aircraft is also undergoing intensive testing.

From the take-off of the Y-20B, we can see that the Chinese aviation industry has crossed the threshold of the power heart. This means that in the future, domestically produced large aircraft will no longer be controlled by others, and will be able to demonstrate the strength of China's manufacturing in the global sky with a more robust attitude.
