Google announced that the Fitbit Premium subscription service will be officially renamed Google Health Premium, and the Fitbit application will also be transformed into a new Google Health application. The annual fee for the new subscription service will rise from the original US$79.99 to US$99.99, and the monthly fee will remain unchanged at US$9.99. This is equivalent to a US$20 increase in the annual fee.
The name change marks Google’s gradual dilution of the Fitbit brand’s presence in subscription services and comes as the company launches its first screenless fitness tracker, Google Fitbit Air. Google Health Premium will vigorously integrate Google's AI technology to provide Gemini-driven health coaching services (formerly known as Personal Health Coach) and "Ask Coach" functions, giving personalized scientific guidance based on user health data.
In addition, the service will include adaptive fitness programs, deeper sleep analysis, proactive health recommendations, and multi-modal recording capabilities, allowing users to track information through text, photos, or voice. The basic version of the Google Health app is free and open to all Fitbit and Pixel Watch users. It supports activity tracking, sleep monitoring, heart rate recording, medical record integration and health logs, and is compatible with other devices, apps and services.

It is worth mentioning that Google Health Premium will be bundled in the Google One AI Pro and Ultra plans and available to users in more than 30 countries. Google Home Premium has also been included in the plan before, making the Pro-level subscription more attractive.
