Recently, Nintendo officially confirmed that it will increase the price of the Switch 2 console in the United States, Europe, Canada and Japan starting from September 1, 2026. At the same time, prices of older Switch models and Nintendo Switch Online subscription services will also increase simultaneously in some regions.

The specific adjustments are as follows: US market Switch 2 increased by US$50, with a new suggested retail price of US$499.99 (approximately RMB 3,600); Europe increased by 30 euros to 499.99 euros (approximately RMB 3,900); Canada increased by 50 Canadian dollars to 679.99 Canadian dollars (approximately RMB 3,600). In the Japanese market, price increases will be implemented in advance from May 25, with Switch 2 rising by about 10,000 yen to 59,980 yen (approximately 2,760 yuan). In addition, Switch OLED, Switch Lite and standard version of Switch will also be raised to 47,980 yen, 29,980 yen and 43,980 yen respectively in Japan.
Nintendo said in a statement: “In view of changes in the market environment and after comprehensive consideration of global business prospects, the company has decided to revise the Nintendo Switch 2 and the recommended retail price of the Switch console. We deeply apologize for the impact of this price adjustment on consumers and related parties, and sincerely thank you for your understanding."
