Technology media TechPowerUp launched a survey on its readers’ opinions on NVIDIA DLSS 5 technology. The results showed that the vast majority of participants preferred to retain the original graphics of the game rather than use AI for visual enhancement.

A total of nearly 20,000 votes were collected in this survey. Data shows that 58% of readers chose the option "AI should not change the game", becoming the most mainstream view by an absolute advantage. This group of users does not want the AI model to tamper with the lighting, materials, character faces, or other visual elements of the game.
In contrast, the proportion of respondents who have a positive attitude towards new technologies is much smaller. About 8% of people believe that the pictures rendered by DLSS5 are better than native rendering, and about 6% of people say that they are willing to accept visual changes only if the frame rate is improved.

NVIDIA officially announced DLSS 5 in March this year, describing it as a real-time neural network rendering model that can add photorealistic lighting and materials to game screens. The company claims that the model utilizes the game's color data and motion vectors as input while keeping the output tied to the original game content. DLSS 5 is scheduled to go online this fall and is expected to be limited to GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards.
