Over the past few months, the ongoing DRAM supply shortage has spread to graphics cards, and the procurement cost of GDDR has increased significantly. After entering 2026, Nvidia's major partners have increased the prices of GeForce graphics cards. Models with larger memory capacities will be more obviously affected, which means that high-end models will see a greater increase.

NVIDIA raises RTX 5090 GDDR7 price, retail price remains unchanged

According to Benchlife reports, although Nvidia has been saying that it will adjust the price of the GeForce RTX 50 series in the near future, it is now confirmed that the GeForce RTX 5090 and GeForce RTX 5090 D v2 will be affected. This adjustment is mainly aimed at the price of GDDR7, and the official suggested retail price (MSRP) has not changed for the time being. However, the increase in cost price will most likely eventually be transmitted to the terminal transaction price.

Since GeForce RTX 5090 and GeForce RTX 5090 D v2 are equipped with 32GB and 24GB of video memory respectively, the increase is quite large, which is much higher than the adjustment of AMD's Radeon graphics card some time ago. NVIDIA has issued relevant notices to partners in the past few days. Considering the target group of the RTX 5090 series, it will have no impact on most players. Nvidia has not adjusted the prices of other RTX 50 series this time.

Due to the rise in graphics card prices, graphics card sales have also been greatly affected in recent times. Whether it is GeForce or Radeon graphics cards, shipments of major brands have generally declined. Coupled with the shortage of storage supply and soaring prices, the normal sales of graphics cards have been further affected.
