On May 15, according to CCTV News, the Third Inspection Bureau of the Beijing Municipal Taxation Bureau of the State Administration of Taxation announced a tax evasion case involving an online anchor. The anchor involved in the case, Wang Zhongtao, used accounts such as "Wang Yangming" to create live broadcasts and short video content on online platforms, with nearly one million fans. He mainly sold knowledge-based paid entrepreneurship courses such as commercial IP incubation and traffic video production, with considerable sales.

Through tax big data analysis, the tax department found that the tax declaration amount was obviously inconsistent with its business scale, and immediately launched an investigation.

After investigation, from 2020 to 2023, Wang Zhongtao sold knowledge-based paid entrepreneurship courses such as commercial IP incubation and traffic video production on online platforms. By changing the nature of income, concealing income by collecting payments in private accounts, and making false tax returns, he underpaid personal income tax and other taxes in total by 1.1961 million yuan.

The tax department made a decision in accordance with the law to recover taxes and fees, impose late payment fees and impose a fine of 2.316 million yuan in total.

At present, the taxes, late fees and fines involved in the case have been recovered and put into the treasury.
