LG will release a 1080p gaming monitor UltraGear 25G590B with a refresh rate of up to 1000Hz this year. This is the first announced display product to natively support 1000Hz refresh at 1920×1080 resolution. Featuring a 24.5-inch IPS panel, this monitor is aimed at eSports players who demand the ultimate in responsiveness, including first-person shooters and scenarios that require high-speed graphics, such as Excel spreadsheet competitions.

Prior to this, prototypes on the market that achieved 1000Hz mainly stayed at 720p resolution, but LG this time combined high refresh rates with mainstream Full HD resolution.

The report pointed out that when the display refresh rate reached 360Hz and 480Hz a few years ago, people were already discussing the issue of "whether the human eye can really distinguish higher refresh rates." Now this threshold has been significantly raised again. The launch of UltraGear 25G590B extends this discussion to the 1000Hz level, providing a new technology platform for high frame rate e-sports experiences.

LG has not yet announced the pricing of this monitor, nor has it given a specific launch date. It only said that it plans to launch it in the second half of 2026. The official introduction mentioned that the 25G590B adopts a "minimalist" stand design, the body is equipped with a storage hook for hanging headphones, and supports customizable lighting effects to match the player's desktop style. LG said that more parameters and details will be disclosed through its official website.

In addition to the high refresh rate and design details, LG has also added a number of "locally running" game-related AI features to this monitor. Among them, "AI Scene Optimization" will intelligently adjust picture settings according to different game types to enhance the realism and layering of the picture; while "AI Sound" is designed to provide a more spatial audio performance and improve the clarity of voice communication when used with compatible headphones. LG claims that these AI features combined with ultra-high refresh rate display performance will create an immersive and playable gaming platform for competitive players.
