Microsoft has quietly launched a new Copilot app on the Android platform, giving users a new way to interact with the AI chat assistant/search engine and its features. It's available for download now from the Google Play Store, and the app's listing shows it hit the market about a week ago.
The new AndroidCopilot app isn't exactly new. At first glance, it looks similar to the BingChat app and still gives you access to the same chat features. In addition, Copilot can also be used in Microsoft Edge Android browser, SwiftKey, Skype and other software.
Copilot for Android supports a ton of features already available on the desktop (plus the ability to switch between light and dark themes). Ask complex questions, use DALL-E3 to generate images, draft documents or emails, or just have a casual chat. Additionally, the app lets you turn off or on the recently added GPT-4.
Here’s what Microsoft says about the new app:
Increase your productivity with Copilot, your AI chat assistant
Copilot is a groundbreaking chat assistant from Microsoft, powered by the latest OpenAI models GPT-4 and DALL·E3. These advanced AI technologies deliver fast, sophisticated and precise responses and are able to create stunning visuals from simple text descriptions.
Chat and create all in one place - and it's completely free!
The Microsoft Copilot app is currently only available on the Android platform. However, iOS users don’t have to worry about being left behind, as Bing’s iOS app still has the same functionality. If your primary device is an Android smartphone and you want to try out the new Copilot app, download it for free from the Google Play Store:
