The Public Interest Registry (PIR) has previously issued a notice announcing that ORG domain names will increase in price starting from June 1, 2026. The last price increase for ORG domain names was in 2016. It is considered conscientious to increase the price after 10 years. However, price increases are always bad for users who hold ORG domain names, so they can consider registering, renewing, and transferring domain names in advance. Especially long-term domain names can be directly renewed for many years before the price increases.

The price increase is approximately 11%:
The original wholesale price of ORG domain names is US$9.93/year (the wholesale price refers to the price provided to domain name registrars). After the price increase, the price is US$11/year. The new price is applicable to the registration, renewal, and transfer of ORG domain names. Naturally, different domain name registrars will also add service fees and ICANN management fees, so the final price will exceed US$11/year. For example, the ORG domain name provided by Cloudflare will increase in price from US$10.13 to US$10.13 per year starting from June 1. For US$11.20, Cloudflare provides it directly to users at cost price without charging service fees, and the extra US$0.2 is ICANN management fee.
ORG domain names can be renewed for up to 10 years, so users can lock in the original price in advance and renew to get the best price. The cost of new registration or renewal for 10 years is US$101.3 (see Cloudflare). If you pay alone, it will cost US$112. If the user holds a large number of ORG domain names, then renewing in advance may be the best option.
