Activision officially announced "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4" today. Surprisingly, the release time of this game may be a little earlier than some people think. "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4" will be released on October 23, 27 days earlier than "GTA6" (11.19). In comparison, 2025’s “Call of Duty: Black Ops 7” will be released on November 14th.

Of course, the "Call of Duty" series has always had the old tradition of choosing to be released in October, because the 2024 "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6" will be released on October 25.
Considering the unprecedented popularity and strong demand of "GTA6", even well-known IPs such as "Call of Duty" must be avoided. Currently "GTA6" is the only major new game scheduled to be released on November 19.
Another thing worth noting is that "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4" will not be available on Game Pass at launch, but will not join the subscription plan for about a year. This is part of Microsoft's "window period" strategy, which excludes certain important games from Game Pass early in the game's release.
However, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4" will be launched on the Nintendo Switch 2 platform. This is noteworthy because a Call of Duty game has not been available on a Nintendo platform since 2013.
"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4" is developed by Infinity Ward, the studio that is also the creator of the "Modern Warfare" sub-brand. In the game campaign, players will play the role of Private Park, a new recruit, and the story is set on the Korean Peninsula. "Modern Warfare 4" of course also returns multiplayer mode and No Man's Zone (DMZ) mode.
