Microsoft recently released a set of suspenseful trailers, suggesting that the Surface product line is about to usher in new hardware, and also threw out the term "a new era of PCs." Pavan Davuluri, the head of Windows and Surface, said on social platforms that "some new things are coming to developers soon," along with a mysterious image of what looks like a curved display edge.

He also made it clear that this is not a new operating system version, so the anticipated Windows 12 is unlikely to be unveiled at next week's Build developer conference.

On the other side, the official Windows account also released a similar mysterious message, saying that it will usher in a "new era of PC" and attached coordinate information pointing to the Computex venue in Taipei. This has led to widespread speculation that Microsoft's warm-up may be related to product launches at Computex and Build conferences, and the focus may fall on the new generation of Surface devices and hardware platforms that can be equipped with new chips. Speculation has also dragged Nvidia into the mix, as market rumors suggest it may re-enter the Windows on Arm space with chips called N1 and N1X.

The most likely answer for now will have to wait until next week: Nvidia is scheduled to deliver a keynote at Computex on May 31, while Microsoft will continue to announce more news at its Build keynote on June 2. This means that this round of previews from Microsoft is likely just a prelude to a larger release plan.
