Apple announced today that it will open Europe's first Apple Developer Center in Berlin, Germany later this year, further strengthening its presence in the global developer ecosystem. Located in Berlin's Mitte district, the center will join existing developer centers in Bangalore, Cupertino, Shanghai and Singapore to provide developers with offline support and technical resources.

According to reports, the Berlin Developer Center will be open to developers from all over Europe, providing multi-language offline courses, special workshops and one-on-one consulting services. It will also be equipped with a consulting area and a specialized laboratory run by Apple's expert team. Susan Prescott, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, said that Europe has an "extraordinary developer community" who are building applications that promote connection, inspire creativity and drive innovation, and Apple has always believed that developers can only perform at their best when they have the right tools and resources.
The new center will regularly hold various activities covering platforms such as iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS and watchOS, targeting development teams of different sizes and development stages to help them improve the design level, overall quality and performance of their applications. Apple pointed out that through these courses and activities, the company hopes to provide developers with more systematic guidance in product iteration, user experience optimization and cross-platform development.
Apple also disclosed some data about its European app ecosystem: In 2025, the average number of weekly active users in App Store stores across Europe will exceed 150 million. Qualified developers can participate in the App Store Small Business Program and enjoy a preferential commission rate of 15% to reduce the operational burden of small and medium-sized developers and individual developers.
This announcement is also seen as part of Apple’s continued increase in developer investment in Europe. Currently, Apple has established 19 Apple Developer Academy around the world and launched Apple Foundation projects in Italy and France to provide system training and entry-level support for local developers. Apple also emphasized that developers can access more than 250,000 APIs, covering frameworks such as HealthKit, Metal, Core ML, MapKit and SwiftUI, providing a technical foundation for building smarter, higher-performance applications.
