Apple’s internal enthusiasm for MacBook Neo seems to be “conservatively estimated.” Apple CEO Tim Cook said in an earnings call at the end of April this year that the market's response to MacBook Neo "exceeded expectations." According to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's latest judgment, the popularity of this product has prompted Apple to significantly increase its production plan this year.

Ming-Chi Kuo said this week that he believes Apple's MacBook Neo shipment target for the supply chain this year has been increased from the original 5 million units to 10 million units. This adjustment was made after the machine was launched in March, which means that Apple will directly double the expected shipments of this new product during the year in a short period of time. Cook also previously revealed that demand for MacBook Neo significantly exceeded Apple's original expectations, driving the number of first-time Mac computer users to a record high last quarter.

Data from third-party organizations also confirm Apple’s statement to a certain extent. The latest statistics from market research company IDC show that MacBook Neo has a strong market performance, and in the overall cooling PC market, the emergence of this product has attracted great attention and response from the Windows camp. For example, Dell recently launched a new XPS 13 notebook with a starting price of $699, and publicly claimed that the machine has features "not found on MacBook Neo", including configurations such as a touch screen and a backlit keyboard. It also admitted that the launch of MacBook Neo proves that "consumers have real demand for high-quality and relatively affordable products."

From the perspective of product positioning, MacBook Neo is currently the lowest-priced MacBook in Apple’s history, with a starting price of US$599 and a price of US$499 for college students. The machine is equipped with the A18 Pro chip, which is the same as the iPhone, and comes in a variety of bright colors including Citrus and Blush. While continuing Apple's consistent design language of thin and light notebooks, it also further lowers the price threshold of Mac devices.

In terms of extending the product life cycle, relevant news shows that Apple has begun to promote the planning of the next generation MacBook Neo. According to sources, the second-generation product is expected to be launched as soon as next year. It is expected to be upgraded to the A19 Pro chip and equipped with 12GB of unified memory to further enhance the overall performance and multi-tasking capabilities. Judging from the current market feedback, supply chain order increase, and the rapid follow-up of competing manufacturers, MacBook Neo is becoming a key product to promote the growth of Apple’s Mac business and leverage the traditional PC market structure.
