Promotional materials exposed in advance by retailers show that Microsoft’s upcoming new generation Surface Pro will switch to Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon X2 processor and be equipped with a 13-inch OLED display. Unlike the Surface business product line, which has been updated for business users, this new yet-to-be-released model is aimed at the consumer market and will be regarded as the "12th generation" product of the Surface Pro series.

According to the channel promotion picture disclosed by German media WinFuture, the new Surface Pro will use a 13-inch OLED panel and will no longer provide an LCD version. The goal is to add a more power-saving display solution to an efficient SoC in addition to better contrast and color performance to bring longer battery life. According to the data, this tablet will be equipped with a 12-core Snapdragon X2 Elite processor and be equipped with a new neural processing unit (NPU) with a computing power of up to 80 TOPS, while the existing Snapdragon X1 series NPU is about 45 TOPS. With this hardware combination, the official promotion claims that it can last about 15.5 hours on a single charge in video playback scenarios.

In terms of storage and memory, this device is expected to offer two memory specifications of 16GB and 32GB, as well as multiple storage capacity options of 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. Like the previous Surface Pro, the new machine will use a removable PCIe Gen4 SSD, allowing users to replace the hard drive by themselves to facilitate later expansion or maintenance. In terms of interfaces, the new Surface Pro will be equipped with two USB4 Type-C interfaces for charging, data transmission and external display output. Officials claim that it can connect up to three external monitors.
In terms of appearance design, leaked pictures show that the overall shape of the new model continues the existing Surface Pro product line, with no obvious major adjustments in appearance or structure. Color options include black, platinum (silver gray) and a color called Dune. The official provides an Alcantara keyboard cover of the same color to maintain an integrated visual style.
The leaked information does not yet provide exact pricing information for this new Surface Pro. However, related news said that Microsoft is expected to officially release the model later this month; for reference, the previous generation Surface Pro was released two years ago. At the same time as this tablet will be unveiled, a new Surface Laptop is also expected to be equipped with a Snapdragon X2 processor, thus enriching Microsoft's Copilot+ PC lineup on the ARM platform.
