The news that Samsung plans to launch two book-style folding screen smartphones this year - Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra has been further confirmed. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is regarded as the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold7 launched last year. Its larger battery capacity and thinner body design mark Samsung's continued progress in the field of folding screen technology.

Although Samsung has not officially made any statement on this, the certification database of the Bluetooth SIG has clearly listed the model "Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra", confirming that the name actually exists.

Previously, Fold8 was called Fold8 Wide, while Fold8 Ultra was called Fold8. The naming change last month caused some confusion. This Bluetooth SIG certification provides authoritative confirmation for the naming of Fold8 Ultra. Although the certification database did not disclose the specific specifications of the Fold8 Ultra, it exposed five model numbers of the phone: SC-56G, SCG39, SM-F976C, SM-F976Q and SM-F976Z.

According to rumors, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra will be equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery, support 45W wired charging, and weigh 215 grams. The phone is only 4.1mm thick when unfolded, which is 0.1mm thinner than its predecessor Galaxy Z Fold7. The standard version of Galaxy Z Fold8 will be equipped with a 4800 mAh battery with the same charging speed as the Ultra version, weighs 201 grams, and will be equipped with a new 50-megapixel camera with native support for 24-megapixel mode.

Regarding the issue of screen creases, rumors suggest that the display creases of Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra will be as small as possible, reaching a level comparable to OPPO Find N6.

Samsung is expected to hold a press conference in London on July 22 to launch two folding screen smartphones.
