Katoen Natie said that these pure electric vehicles will be used to replace the company’s existing fuel fleet.It is expected to reduce 3,350 tons of CO per year2emissions while significantly reducing fuel consumption costs.

It is understood that Katoen Natie was founded in 1854 and is headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium. It is the world's leading port operation and logistics warehousing service provider, with operations in many countries and regions. This large-scale purchase of a pure electric fleet is an important step in the company's decarbonization strategy.

For BMW, the symbolic significance of this order is also not small. Looking back at the full year of 2025, the BMW Group delivered 442,072 pure electric models, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%, accounting for 17.9% of the group's total deliveries;If including plug-in hybrid models, the total number of electrified models delivered reached 642,071, which is equivalent to one out of every four new cars sold by the BMW Group.

As of June 2025, BMW's cumulative pure electric delivery has exceeded 1.5 million vehicles, and is expected to exceed the 2 million vehicle mark in 2026.

Entering 2026, among the seven major European automakers, the BMW Group's pure electric model registrations accounted for 26% from January to April 2026, ranking first.As the first model of the new generation platform, the new iX3 received more than 50,000 orders in Europe in the first quarter of this year, driving BMW's pure electric orders to increase by 40% year-on-year.

Winning the largest pure electric company order in Belgium’s history this time also confirms BMW’s competitiveness in the pure electric 2B market.

It is worth noting that the new iX3 and i3 ordered by Katoen Natie this time are both built on BMW’s new generation platform. Among them, iX3 is equipped with a dual-motor four-wheel drive system with a maximum power of 463 horsepower, a cruising range of more than 600 kilometers (WLTP working conditions), and supports 400kW ultra-fast charging;

As the second pure electric model on the new generation platform, i3 also has significant improvements in battery life and intelligence. The leap in product capabilities of new-generation models also gives corporate customers the confidence to place large orders.
