Microsoft has announced that it will launch an Xbox Series X25 limited edition console to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Xbox brand. This commemorative model continues the design language of the original Xbox. Both the console and the controller are made of green transparent shells, paying tribute to the classic image of "OG Green" in players' memories.

Jason Ronald, Microsoft's vice president in charge of next-generation products, said that this is the first time Xbox Series X has introduced a transparent design. While continuing the brand's history, it still retains the performance and configuration of the existing console, including core parameters such as 1TB storage space. He emphasized that this limited edition design not only looks back on the past, but also expresses gratitude to the player community that has accompanied the brand's growth all the way.
In terms of appearance details, the Xbox logo on the front of this commemorative console will light up green when it is turned on, and the 25th anniversary commemorative logo is also printed on the front panel of the console. Microsoft also revealed that there are several "Easter egg" elements hidden in the appearance of the console as a special thank you to players.

The X25 special edition wireless controller launched simultaneously also adopts a green transparent shell design, and returns to the tradition of the first-generation handle in terms of button color matching. The handle retains the original ABXY color buttons, while the design language on the shoulder buttons pays homage to the black and white buttons on the Duke handle of that year. Jason Ronald said that the handle back shell and battery compartment are completely transparent, and the classic XBOX logo can be seen inside, providing collectors with more memorable details.
Microsoft plans to launch this Xbox Series X25 limited edition console and matching controller globally in November this year, but the exact release date and specific price have not yet been announced. Officials have shown the appearance and design concept of this series of products through a trailer, and made it one of the important hardware releases during the 2026 Summer Game Festival.
