Apple announced that it will expand the original "menstrual cycle tracking" function in the health application in the upcoming iOS 27 system, introducing dedicated support for perimenopause and menopause for the first time, including relevant notifications, symptom records, and popular science education resources. After the upgrade, the system can determine whether there are suspected perimenopausal changes based on the user's long-term recorded menstrual cycle pattern, and push reminders to the user at the appropriate time.
Users can also record perimenopause and menopause-related symptoms directly within the Health app and access official educational information for guidance and support during this physiological transition. At the same time, Apple Fitness+ will also launch new exercise courses designed for perimenopausal and menopausal people, which will be linked with the new functions of the health app.

Apple said that the new perimenopause and menopause support in iOS 27 will identify hormonal change trends that may begin ten years before menopause or even earlier based on users' long-term accumulated cycle data. This new capability is part of broader health improvements in iOS 27, which also include more advanced cycle tracking capabilities, faster data updates, and a series of interface design optimizations.
Apple first introduced the "menstrual cycle tracking" function to iPhone and Apple Watch in iOS 13 and watchOS 6, and has continued to expand the functional boundaries since then. After adding a wrist temperature sensor to Apple Watch Series 8, users can already use this function to record basal body temperature and obtain retrospective predictions of ovulation time. This perimenopausal and menopausal tracking capability is a further extension on this basis.
