Aravind Srinivas, CEO of artificial intelligence company Perplexity, said the company plans to go public in 2028, regardless of how the market views the listings of Anthropic and OpenAI. "Regardless of what happens with these two companies, we originally planned to take action in 2028, so the plan is still valid," Srinivas said in an interview.

After Anthropic submitted IPO documents last week, OpenAI also confidentially submitted documents earlier this Monday in preparation for listing in the United States. Elon Musk's SpaceX also plans to go public this Friday.

"If these IPOs do not go well, there will definitely be a ripple effect, there is no denying this. This week's SpaceX IPO will undoubtedly be an important leading indicator for judging the prospects of Anthropic or OpenAI going public," Srinivas said.

"I think it's critical for the AI industry that these IPOs go smoothly, and I actually think they will go well because they are currently operating well," Srinivas added.

In response to outside speculation about Perplexity's financial status, Srinivas said in 2025 that the company has sufficient funds and has no plans to go public before 2028.
