Apple recently updated the installation rate data of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26, revealing how many iPhones and iPads have been upgraded to the latest system one day before the opening of the 2026 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2026). According to information released by Apple, this set of data counts devices that were traded in the App Store on Sunday, June 7, local time.

Regarding the iPhone, statistics show that 86% of all iPhone models released in the past four years are running iOS 26; counting all iPhones in use, 79% have been upgraded to iOS 26. For iPad, 79% of models launched within the past four years have iPadOS 26 installed, compared with 68% of all iPad devices.
Apple also provided data for the same period last year to facilitate comparison of the adoption of iOS 26 and iOS 18 generations. Based on devices traded in the App Store on Thursday, June 5, 2025, 88% of iPhones released within four years and 82% of all iPhones at that time were running iOS 18; 81% of iPads released within four years were running iPadOS 18, and 71% of all iPads were running iPadOS 18. In comparison, the coverage of this year’s iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 under the same statistical caliber is slightly lower than that of the previous generation system.
With the iOS 27 developer beta now rolling out, this update will be the last set of official statistics on iOS 26 installations.
