Apple is quietly removing the Apple Vision Pro travel case accessory from some international markets. The $199 official storage case has disappeared from Apple’s online stores in many countries. It is reported that the Apple Vision Pro travel case no longer appears on the accessories page of Apple's official website in many countries and regions, including the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, France, Ireland, and Hong Kong, China. The related product pages have also been completely removed. This approach is generally regarded as a signal that it has officially discontinued production and has no intention of re-listing it in the short term.

In China and Australia, the travel box product page still exists, but the button has turned gray, indicating that it cannot be purchased; in contrast, the United States, Canada and the United Arab Emirates still maintain normal sales. The specific adjustment time is not clear, but it should be a recent change.

For markets where the official travel case is no longer available, users can still choose Belkin’s travel bag for Vision Pro as an alternative. The accessory is still sold through Apple channels in international markets. Apple has not yet made any public statement on the supply changes of the original travel case.

The shake-up comes amid a significant retrenchment of Vision Pro’s overall strategy. The Vision Pro M5 version released in October 2025 did not successfully ignite a new consumer boom. Despite the chip upgrade, the price of $3,499 has remained unchanged, and the market response has been mediocre. Some analysts believe that Vision Pro’s cumulative sales since its launch are about 600,000 units, and its return rate is significantly higher than Apple’s other hardware products in recent years, highlighting the problem of consumer acceptance of this product line.

After the poor response to the M5 model, Apple's internal Vision Pro team has reportedly been disbanded and members have been deployed to other projects. Mike Rockwell, the head of the Vision product line, will lead Apple's Siri team starting in March 2025. The previously expected lighter and cheaper "Vision Air" version was reportedly canceled in October 2025. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman also said that even if a new generation of headsets are released in the future, it will probably be two years later because most of Apple's mixed reality hardware talents have been transferred to other directions.

Supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently revealed that John Ternus, who is about to take over as Apple's CEO, has decided to cancel the second-generation Vision Pro and Vision Air products. Apple's current focus is shifting to wearable devices in the form of smart glasses. It is said that there are only two types of products still under development: smart glasses that focus on AI functions and are positioned to benchmark Meta and Ray-Ban, which are expected to be launched around 2027; and AR glasses with a display, which are expected to be released after 2029. At the same time, Gurman also pointed out that a thinner, cheaper Vision Pro still exists in the long-term plan, but the realistic timetable is likely to wait until the end of 2028 or even 2029 for a chance to debut.

Against the background of the above-mentioned strategic contraction and product route adjustment, the Vision Pro travel case has quietly "exited" in many markets. Whether it is a complete discontinuation of production or just a clearing of inventory, the outside world generally regards this as another signal that the future direction of this headset is becoming increasingly uncertain.
