In response to feedback from FAW-Volkswagen Sagitar owners about air-conditioning powder spraying, FAW-Volkswagen issued a "Letter to Customers" to owners, stating that it will provide owners with free air-conditioning system testing services. If there is any problem, it will replace the new original air-conditioning evaporator for free, and provide a 15-year quality guarantee for the air-conditioning assembly.
Previously, many FAW-Volkswagen owners reported that unknown white powder continued to spray from the air-conditioning outlet of the new Sagitar that they just took delivery of this year. They were worried about affecting the air quality in the car and harming the health of the drivers and passengers.
FAW-Volkswagen stated in the letter that after analysis, this phenomenon is related to the accumulation of hydrophilic coating raw liquid in some air-conditioning evaporators. The excess raw liquid forms white particles after drying. After testing by a third-party authoritative organization, the main component of the white particles is polyvinyl alcohol and will not cause harm to human health. It mainly involves some Sagitar vehicles produced from September 2025 to January 2026.
FAW-Volkswagen said it will provide users with free air conditioning system testing services from now on. If there is any problem, the evaporator of the air conditioner will be replaced with a new original factory free of charge, and a 15-year quality guarantee for the air conditioner assembly will be provided. The air-conditioning system free maintenance service policy and related rights protection are valid for a long time.
