When Forza Horizon 6 was released in May, Microsoft announced a new gaming technology, Advanced Shader Delivery (ASD), and now the preview version of this technology has been extended to Xbox PC.
Previously, ASD could only be obtained from the Xbox Insider program. This technology was officially introduced last year when Microsoft, AMD, Asus and other companies released ROG Xbox Ally. Now it has been officially extended to Windows 11 computers equipped with independent graphics, notebooks with integrated AMD core graphics, etc.
ASD technology has two advantages, one is that it can greatly improve the loading speed of the game, and the other is to reduce the lag of the shader. It has been tested in "Forza Horizon 6" before. When the R7 5800 is paired with the RX 7600 graphics card, the previous loading time took 1.5 minutes. After supporting ASD, it only takes 4 seconds. The loading speed is increased by 95%, and it also bypasses shader compilation, reducing lag.
ASD technology is excellent, but it also has limitations - in addition to the OS and driver versions that must meet the standards, the key thing is that now only AMD GPUs can do it, and AMD is also very generous this time, supporting everything from RDNA1 to the latest RDNA4.
Considering that Microsoft's Xbox consoles and handheld consoles both use AMD hardware platforms, it is no problem for AMD to take the lead in supporting it. However, Microsoft also mentioned that it will expand ASD to other manufacturers' hardware in the future, but there is no clear timetable.

It's time for NVIDIA and Intel graphics card users to complain.
