Recently, lululemon organized a large-scale yoga carnival in the North Bund of Shanghai. It was reported that nearly 1,300 people participated. However, it encountered a heavy rain during the event. Because the brand lacked a plan to deal with unexpected weather conditions, users were criticized for practicing yoga in the rain on the Bund.
On social media, some fans who participated in this event posted their dissatisfaction, "I will never participate in Lulu's activities again. The yoga mats are wet, there is no place to put things, the arm span cannot be extended, the activity time will be delayed by 20 minutes, and you will be scolded for talking. After all, it is free. What else do you want?" Some fans complained, "There is no rainy day plan, it is also a grassroots team", "I was shocked after seeing it"...
In addition, some voices pointed out, "After the footage of thousands of people doing yoga in the rain on the Bund in Shanghai leaked out, the composition and formation highly replicated the scene in the movie "Abandon Three Evils", which was inconsistent and caused discomfort."
As of press time, lululemon has not publicly responded to the matter. Lululemon official flagship store customer service said, "I'm really sorry, your feedback has been recorded."
It is worth noting that this is not the only question lululemon has faced recently. Recently, lululemon held an event at the Great Wall, and brand ambassador Zhu Yilong was accused of "the drums played during the performance being Japanese drums."
On the 16th, lululemon issued a statement to apologize, "The Great Wall Yoga theme event held this time has always adhered to the original intention of paying tribute to Chinese culture. We attach great importance to feedback from all walks of life. Due to limitations in relevant professional knowledge, we were unable to fully identify potential disputes in the early stage. We have also fully realized that we should be more cautious and thoughtful in the early planning and review process of the drum performance. Here, we sincerely apologize to the public and Mr. Zhu Yilong, and have removed all relevant promotional content."
