Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon said in an interview with Nikkei Asia that the company will deploy its data center products in the Chinese market, including designing chips specifically for Chinese customers that comply with U.S. export control requirements.
Anmon said on the sidelines of an investor conference in New York on Wednesday that Qualcomm is working on introducing all four data center product lines into China, including AI accelerators customized for the Chinese market, and that these products will comply with U.S. export control regulations.
"We have a huge business in China. As the company begins to diversify, our cooperative relationships with China and Chinese customers are also expanding." Anmeng said. He added that cooperation with Chinese smartphone manufacturers and car companies will also be "an advantage that we can draw on in the data center space."
He said: "There are very clear guidelines on how to ship products to China, and all of our products have versions that comply with these regulations. We are communicating about this and are positive and optimistic about the feedback we have received so far."
