Players who purchase the physical version of "GTA 6" need to choose the game version carefully. According to the updated information from the R-Star online store, the redemption code in the physical box will have regional restrictions and will not be part of the "global version" that can activate the game in any region.
According to published information, Rockstar has prepared three activation code versions. The North American version is only available in the United States and Canada, the UK version can only be activated within the UK, and the European version is available in parts of the EU and some other European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Norway, and Switzerland.
In actual operation, players have several options. First, create or use an account in the area corresponding to the code. Second, purchase the digital version directly through the digital store in the corresponding region. Third, wait for the possible subsequent release of a full physical version with a disc or a PC version.
"GTA6" will be launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms on November 19, 2026.
