Last month, Chinese car brands accounted for more than a tenth of new car sales in Europe for the first time, as consumers flocked to cheaper models with better features. Analysts at Dataforce said hybrid and plug-in hybrid models like the MG S9 SUV helped Chinese automakers capture 11% of European sales in May. Chinese brands account for nearly a quarter of new hybrid car sales, and demand for Chinese-made pure electric vehicles has also grown.
Chinese automakers "realized early on that European consumers were not ready for a full switch to pure electric vehicles and adjusted their product mix accordingly faster than most established Western automakers," said Dataforce analyst Julian Litzinger. “However, the strongest driver is value for money: Chinese brands allow consumers to buy better vehicles at more affordable prices.”

Litzinger said that comparing the two seven-seat SUVs, compared with buying the Volkswagen Tayron, buying the China-made MG S9 not only saves money, but also gets more horsepower, and the quality of the car can also stand the test.
