MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, will donate about $7 billion in 2025, bringing her total charitable giving over the past five years to $26.2 billion, according to data provided by Giving USA and the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University.

The funds were donated to thousands of nonprofits working on housing, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), disaster recovery, and many other causes.

Data show that total charitable donations in the United States will reach a record high of $617.2 billion in 2025, an increase of 5.7% from the previous year.

Other mega-donors in 2025 include Michael Bloomberg ($4.3 billion), Bill Gates ($3.7 billion), Warren Buffett ($1.34 billion) and Susan and Michael Dell (nearly $1 billion).
