According to Bloomberg, Apple plans to release a 14-inch MacBook Pro equipped with an M6 chip in late 2026, followed by a redesigned MacBook Pro model powered by an M7 chip in the first half of 2027. According to reports, the research and development work on this 14-inch M6 MacBook Pro was actually completed several months ago, and the product is expected to be officially launched before the end of this year.

Compared with previous Apple chip iterations, the life cycle of the M6 will be significantly shorter. The reason is that Apple does not plan high-end versions such as M6 Pro and M6 Max for M6, but hopes to achieve a quick transition between M6 and the next-generation M7. The M7 chip is regarded as a generation of products optimized for artificial intelligence workloads and will provide better performance and efficiency support for future AI computing scenarios.
The report pointed out that the M7 MacBook Pro, which is expected to be launched in 2027, will adopt a new appearance design, and its overall style will be "consistent" with the design planned by Apple for the rumored high-end OLED touch screen MacBook Pro. Multiple sources have previously reported that these high-end OLED MacBook Pro models are expected to adopt a slimmer body design to match new display technologies and interactive forms. The specific launch time of these OLED MacBook Pros has not yet been finalized. Bloomberg believes that they will most likely be launched between the end of 2026 or early 2027.
It should be noted that there is still uncertainty about the release schedule of Apple's entire product line. On the one hand, the ongoing global shortage of memory chips and rising costs have put pressure on Apple's supply chain; on the other hand, the tight situation in upstream manufacturing and components has also made the specific mass production and release rhythm uncertain.
In addition to MacBook Pro, Apple has a long list of potential new products in the first half of 2027. These include the new iPad Pro, the second-generation iPhone Air with dual cameras, and models such as the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e. This means that in 2027, Apple may simultaneously promote major updates around multiple product lines of Mac, iPad and iPhone, further strengthening its layout in the fields of high-end mobile computing and artificial intelligence devices.
