In the newly released third developer beta version of watchOS 27, Apple officially opened the newly upgraded Siri AI for Apple Watch users and introduced an independent Siri application. This means that users wearing Apple Watch can now experience a smarter and more natural Apple virtual assistant on their wrist.

As early as the 2026 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2026), Apple announced a "long-lost major upgrade" to Siri. The new Siri AI has been launched in the iOS 27 developer beta. It has stronger contextual understanding capabilities and supports natural language input. The overall performance is more like a chatbot developed by Apple. In the early stages, this capability is primarily available to iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro developers with iOS 27 or corresponding beta systems.
As the third developer beta of watchOS 27 was launched on Monday, the revamped Siri AI landed on the Apple Watch platform as a standalone application. Siri AI conversation records can be displayed synchronously across various devices under the same Apple ID, covering all connected and compatible new system products. This means that even if Siri AI has just arrived on Apple Watch, developers can seamlessly continue the previous conversation experience on iPhone or iPad.
In the watchOS 27 beta, users can launch the Siri application in the Dynamic App Grid interface, which is designed as the default home screen interaction method. The Siri application is located in the center of the field of view, and five contextual applications related to the user's behavioral habits and daily use are automatically arranged around it, trying to improve overall usage efficiency through "environment awareness".
However, this developer beta and the device support range of watchOS 27 have also caused controversy. The new system requires Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2, or third-generation Apple Watch SE and later models to install. In other words, watchOS 27 actually only supports six newer Apple Watch models. The reason given by Apple is that "newer hardware is more suitable for running Siri AI." For users who are still using older watches, this means that they are clearly classified as unsupported at the system and functional level.
