KPMG China, a world-renowned consulting company, releasedIn the ranking of famous e-sports cities in the world in 2023, Los Angeles, Paris, and Shanghai ranked among the top three.Starting from 2021, KPMG China will launch the "Globally Famous E-Sports Cities Industry Development Index Ranking Report" every year with a global perspective and professional perspective, going deep into the front lines, sorting out the context, analyzing problems, and making suggestions.
Since the report was released,Shanghai has ranked among the top three on the list for three consecutive years.
The report pointed out thatThe 2023 Global Esports Conference will be held in Shanghai. Shanghai’s esports revenue in 2022 will account for more than 40% of national esports revenue. Shanghai has also issued a number of esports industry support policies.
As early as 2003, the State Sports General Administration listed e-sports as an official sport, and Shanghai is one of the most active cities in China for e-sports.
It is understood that 80% of domestic e-sports companies, clubs and star resources are concentrated in Shanghai, and 40% of nationwide e-sports events are settled in Shanghai. In December 2017, Shanghai made it clear that it would build a global e-sports capital.
