The second season of the critically acclaimed "Game of Thrones" spin-off "House of the Dragon" will premiere this summer. At the end of 2023, George RR Martin, the original author of the "Song of Ice and Fire" series, published an article on his personal blog in which he mentioned multiple "Game of Thrones" spin-off animated series.
At the beginning of his blog, Mr. Ma mentioned that he had recently watched the animated series "Blue Eyed Samurai" and was full of praise for this animation that tells Japanese stories about the times. This reminded him of the animated series based on the worldview of "A Song of Ice and Fire" that he collaborated with HBO on.
Although these works have not yet been approved, and two of the four imagined animations have been shelved, the remaining two spin-off animations are currently being planned. In addition to the already disclosed "Nine Voyages" animated spin-off series about the nine voyages of "Sea Serpent" Corlys Velaryon in "House of Dragons", there are currently three animated series that will bring more plot expansion to the world of "A Song of Ice and Fire".
