The powerful screen-based text editor Vim kicked off the new year with a new version released today. Vim 9.1 is primarily a bugfix release containing "hundreds of bug fixes" but also has some new features.
Vim9.1 now supports Vim9 classes and objects for the Vim9 scripting language, a new ":defer" command, support for adding dummy text to buffers (like language server features), support for smooth scrolling, updated OpenVMS support, and updated XXD to support color output.
