Chip manufacturer AMD has announced on its official website that it will hold a CES2024 conference at 10 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on January 8 (23:00 on January 8, Beijing time). The company stated that at this CES2024 event, AMD Chairman and CEO Lisa Su and AMD Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Computing and Graphics Division Jack Huynh will talk about the future of artificial intelligence in personal computers.

Previously, foreign media reported that AMD will release notebook GPUs based on Navi32 GPU-RX7700M and RX7800M at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES2024) in 2024.

AMD has long been at a disadvantage in the GPU and CPU markets. Now, the company appears poised to take on Nvidia in this new arena, with help from Microsoft.

In early May 2023, people familiar with the matter revealed that AMD will cooperate with Microsoft to develop artificial intelligence chips. Microsoft will provide financial support and "engineering resources" to AMD to improve the performance of its products in AI workloads, and will work with AMD to develop an AI chip codenamed "Athena."

In December 2023, AMD launched the InstinctMI300 series of products at the AdvancingAI event in San Jose. The series includes two products, namely InstinctMI300A (CPU+GPU) and InstinctMI300X (pure GPU). At that time, industry insiders revealed that in 2024, AMD’s new generation InstinctMI300 series AIGPU shipments are expected to reach 300,000-400,000 units.
