Last month, the Nvidia RTX 5880Ada graphics card first appeared in the latest RTX Enterprise 537.99 driver. Now, Nvidia has officially announced the specifications of this graphics card. Its core configuration has been reduced, but other specifications remain unchanged. This graphics card is also designed to comply with US export policies. It is a scaled-down version of the RTX6000Ada with fewer cores and lower power consumption. Its specifications have been cut to ensure that it does not exceed the TPP (Total Processing Performance) cap of 4800 points.
NVIDIARTX5880AdaGeneration delivers the features, functionality and performance to meet the challenges of today's professional workflows. RTX5880 is based on the AdaLovelace GPU architecture and combines the third-generation RT core, the fourth-generation Tensor core and the new-generation CUDA core with 48GB of video memory.
In terms of specifications, the NVIDIARTX5880Ada graphics card is equipped with a reduced AD102 GPU core, with 14080 CUDA cores and 440 Tensor cores. Compared with the RTX6000Ada graphics card, the number of cores has been reduced by 22%. The graphics card is clocked at about 2.5GHz and has 69.3TFLOPs of FP32 computing power and 1108TFLOPs of Tensor performance. Compared to RTX6000Ada, FP32 and tensor core performance is reduced by 24%.
In terms of video memory, NVIDIARTX5880Ada uses the same 48GB GDDR6 video memory, with a running speed of 20Gbps and a bandwidth of 960GB/s. Compared with the RTX6000Ada GPU's 300W, the power consumption has dropped slightly by 15W (285W). The graphics card uses a standard dual-slot active cooling design and has four DisplayPort1.4a output ports. It is also equipped with triple Encore/Decode engine.
While there's no information on pricing, you can expect the RTX5880Ada to be priced similarly to the RTX6000Ada, as the RTX4090D was launched at the same price as the regular RTX4090 despite being a scaled-down design for the Chinese market. In this case, the price of RTX6000Ada should be around US$6,800, which is the recommended retail price of 6000Ada.
