The $329 Radeon RX 7600

Gamers have been waiting for a sub-$400 graphics card to really push the envelope with 1440p gaming, but AMD's original Radeon RX 7600 didn't do that. While that $269 card only came with 8GB of video memory, AMD doubled the memory capacity to 16GB on the RX7600XT and promised that the card is "1440p ready." It's a surprising choice, especially since the RX7700XT comes with 12GB of memory.

Unfortunately, the new RX7600XT, like the RX7600, still only has 32 compute units, 2048 stream processors, and a 128-bit memory bus. AMD has increased base and boost clock speeds. Total board power has also increased from the RX7600's 165 watts to 190 watts.

AMD claims the changes mean 60fps and above at 1440p in games like StarCraft, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Watch Dogs: Legion, Assassin's Creed: Phantoms and Forza Horizon 5. Judging from AMD's own data, this graphics card is more like a 1080p graphics card, even if it can reach 1440p in some games.

Other data shared by AMD compares the RX6700XT to NVIDIA's $299 RTX 4060. AMD shows that RX6700XT and RTX4060 compete at 1080p and 1440p in a few games, but how to compare them requires a full review.

The Radeon RX6700XT will start shipping on January 24th for $329. It will be available from board partners including Acer, ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte, PowerColor, Sapphire and XFX.
